Meet the newest member of our coaching staff! Coaches Nicole and Amanda.
Nicole Palmore
Nicole is originally from the Olympia area. She attended and graduated from Capital High School and Saint Martin’s University, with a BA in Psychology. Nicole went on to be a local Police Officer and Detective. In November of 2023, Nicole retired from the Police Department and is currently an assistant Autopsy Technician for the local Coroner’s Office. Nicole played softball for Capital High School. She also played competitive, gold level, travel softball for; NW Outlaws, Purple Haze, Friction Fastpitch, and Olympia Mustangs throughout her softball career. During her years of competitive travel ball, Nicole competed in several National, Regional, World Series, and College Exposure tournaments throughout the United States. Nicole was known for her versatility as a left-handed hitter; from power hitter to slapper to drag bunt. Nicole’s primary positions were Outfield,1st base, and pitcher. In 2011, Nicole started her coaching career at NW Christian High School. NW Christian completed at their first Districts Tournament in school history that year. Summers of 2017 and 2018, she coached a team for the Fastpitch NW College Exposer Tournament in Centralia, WA. Nicole returned to Capital High School, where she coached as assistant varsity coach for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023 seasons. Nicole has several NFHS certifications for coaching. She has conducted multiple private hitting and pitching lessons since she started her coaching career.
Amanda Palmore
Amanda is originally from Lewis County, where she graduated from Centralia High School. Amanda went on to Youngstown State University in Ohio, where she received her BS in Civil Engineering. She then joined the Army National Guard and transferred home to Washington in 2020. Amanda is currently serving as a company commander in the Washington National Guard over an engineering unit. Amanda was a varsity multi-sport athlete while attending Centralia High School. In 2008, she was named female athlete of the year. Amanda played competitive, gold level, travel ball for NW Outlaws and Sidewinders. She competed in several National, Regional, World Series, and College Exposure tournaments throughout the United States. Her primary positions included catcher, 2nd and 1st base. Her senior year, she received a full ride athletic scholarship to Youngstown State University, to play Division 1 softball for 4 years. While at YSU, Amanda was the starting catcher as a freshman. In 2020, she began her coaching career as an assistant varsity Softball coach at Howland High School in Ohio. In 2021, Amanda was an assistant varsity coach at Capital High School, here in Washington. She has conducted multiple hitting and catcher lessons, since she began her coaching career.
